The year is 1933.  Our story begins with a talented but as yet untrusted film director who is rapidly preparing to set sail with a hired crew.  Why is he going?  To shoot a film of course.  Where is he going?  He’s not telling.  Without a care for the irritations and suspicions that this secrecy arouses, he finds himself a down-on-her-luck actress willing to accompany him on his mad voyage to film the greatest beast he can find halfway around the world.  His attempts at encountering the creature are successful when halfway around the world they discover (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER BEWARE THE SPOILER) the legendary monstrosity himself, King Kong.

Murder, murder, and more murder — who knows the subject better than the queen of the murder mystery herself, Agatha Christie.  In her lifetime Christie wrote over 50 different novels, mostly focusing on a genre she mastered, the murder mystery.  Christie’s stories are all different and unique, but one thing they have in common is a mysterious death and a group of people that all seem to look guilty.  This trope is consistent in Stages Theatre presents Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile. While the climax and twist ending in this production give a much-needed boost of energy to the show, the buildup in the first act lacks a kick and feels almost irrelevant after watching the whole story play through. Paul Rush is a founder of the Sixty-six Theater Co, located at the historic Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood. He fell in love with theater while studying at the University of Maine. His disciplined and heartfelt approach he attributes to his time in the woods of Maine and in his service in the U.S. Air Force. Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm is a Los Angeles-based playwright, book writer, lyricist, screenwriter, and actor. He’s had over 170 productions of his plays and musicals staged in four countries. His play WOUNDED just premiered Off-Broadway at the Soho Playhouse as part of the “Fringe Encore Series” (chosen from thousands of Fringe shows from all over the world). He’s won and placed for over twenty playwriting awards, including being a Finalist for the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center National Playwrights Conference and the David Ross Fetzer Foundation for Emerging Artists Grant.
