A normal production of the Broadway legend Les Misérables is overtaken by a bunch of foul-mouthed puppets who want to throw a revolution of their own. Both a loving tribute and a brutal deconstruction of the “greatest musical of all time,” this show is full of clever twists on classic songs, improvisation, and audience interaction. Warning: This production contains offensive language, sexual situations, and musical theater. It should not be viewed by children. Taken from the website.

Written and directed by comedy partners Nathan Makaryk and Geneviève Flati (both cc’ed here!)—who double as the raucous Thenardiers—this irreverent parody lampoons every aspect of the famous musical, movie, and novel. Both Les Misérables enthusiasts and haters alike will love the show, which features new versions of classic songs, tons of improvisation and audience interaction. (Taken from the press release)

Even though Come From Away is set against the tragic backdrop of 9/11, it focuses more on the tension, feelings, and emotions of the time — as opposed to a more strait-laced recap of the period. The characters we see stranded in Canada remind us of the pain felt by all Americans at home and abroad alike. Yet even in tragedy, the characters were about to find a silver lining. Adapted from Daniel Wallace’s novel and Tim Burton’s acclaimed film, and featuring spine-tinglingly beautiful music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family and The Wild Party), Big Fish is a fantastical musical that illustrates the larger-than-life anecdotes of Edward Bloom, a man nearing the end of his life. This fact has compelled his grown son Will to embark on an adventure of his own — to unravel his real dad from the myths of his tall tales. Filled with magic, love, luck, and crazy coincidences, this rollicking fantasy set in the American South is a tribute to the power of dreaming big. Taken from the website.
