Towne Street Theatre Presents: 10 Minute Play Festival – Review

PC: Vincenty Banez

Towne Street Theatre, Los Angeles’ premier African-American Theatre company, brings its 10-minute Play Festival back for the 12th year, October 6th through 22nd. This is Town Street’s most anticipated show of the year! After three years on Zoom due to the pandemic, it returns live on stage at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood. And this year, they’re adding an original film festival to the line-up for the first time ever. The short plays and films were selected from hundreds of submissions, and the theme is “something old, something new, something borrowed, or something blue.” But NO WEDDINGS! Audiences will enjoy the show AND have the chance to vote for their top choices among an array of plays that range from hilarious comedies to touching dramas — all of which convey truths about the African American experience past and present. Get tickets and find out more at townestreetla.org. (Towne with an ‘e’)

Average Show! 7.3 out of 10! October 6 – 22, 2023.
