In Alexandre Dumas THE GREAT LOVER the Duke De Richelieu has proposed a wager that he can and will seduce the first beautiful woman who crosses his path. Women have always found the silver-tongued rascal attractive and so rarely has he ever fallen short of his conquest. But in this case the Marquis De Prie has pledged to protect & mentor the virginal Gabrielle De Belle-Isle and even though both are vying for the promise of the newly commissioned stallion the nobless Lieutenant Raoul Sevran the promising reward of passionate Love is difficult to keep in check once that door is open. So the game is afoot and it is difficult to guess who might come out on top after traversing the labyrinth of foreplay and danger laid out by the players in this delightful romp in the chateau of Chantilly, 18th century France.

Alexandre Dumas before he penned his famous novels The Three Musketeers, The Man in the Iron Masque. The Count of Monte Cristo, he was the most popular and prolific playwrights in Parisian Theatrical history & the uncrowned king of Parisian Theatre. The GREAT LOVER ran for 100 years in France and was only the beginning of what was to become a celebrated career that after more than 300 years has yet to lose its popularity and appeal. Dumas’s work framed in this instance by the master musician Chevalier de St George takes on the epic grandeur that makes for a true celebration of Romance laced with naughty mischief.
