The Hour of the Star – AD

Brazilian artist Bruna Fachetti presents a powerful one-woman adaptation of Clarice Lispector’s acclaimed novella The Hour of the Star—a landmark of Brazilian literature admired by artists including Cate Blanchett. Presented in partnership with Chekhov Studio International and directed by Alex Tietre, the production uses the translation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Benjamin Moser. Bringing six characters to life, Fachetti tells the story of Macabéa, a young woman from Brazil’s impoverished Northeast whose quiet existence becomes a profound exploration of identity, invisibility, and the universal search for belonging.  – This is an AD
